Te Wiki O Te Reo Maori


This week is Maori Language Week.
Staff and students will be encouraged to use Maori words and phrases and greetings as much as possible over the week. We will also be enjoying Maori dance, song and activities as well as a concert from our Culture Club on Friday. Join in with us!

TERM THREE- 2010

What is happening for this Term???

Our school wide concept is- EMPOWERMENT

Our Big Picture will be- 'Green is Mean''
with the Big Question- 'How can we share and care for our Planet?'

MAJOR FOCUS: Science MINOR FOCUS: Social Sciences
Contexts: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Oceans and Rain forests, Water Cycle

Our Writing Focus will be- Personal Recounts/ Picture Plans/ Cameo Writing/ Recrafting/ Publishing and a particular focus on Transactional Writing: Writing Instructions

We will also continue participating in the 'Kids Rich in Character' Programme.

Our mathematics programme will be- Numeracy (Weeks 1-5) ---> Money (Weeks 6) ---> Fractions (Weeks 7&8) ---> Measurement- volume, capacity and weight (Weeks 9&10) **approx.**
